Hola Germán, en primer lugar bienvenido y gracias por aceptar nuestra entrevista, para todos los que nos visitan, aquí podréis conocer un poco más de este gran artista español afincado en málaga, empezamos:
1. ¿Recuerdas cómo fueron tus inicios?
Mis inicios fueron muy humildes tenia 16 años cuando empecé a tocar, lo hacía en sitios por muy poco dinero y en aquella época se tocaba con vinilos por lo que todo lo que ganaba era para comprar vinilos, incluso le robaba monedas a mi madre para comprar discos. Siempre he tenido trabas con compañeros que me tachaban de ‘dj demasiado underground’ musicalmente hablando para mi ciudad y también se me cerraron puertas por no tener aspecto de dj, según ellos. Eran muy pocos los que me apoyaron, esto hizo que lo dejara de lado todo durante un largo periodo, volví con 30 años y con mas ganas que nunca, mi esfuerzo, constancia y el aprender de los buenos me llevo a donde estoy a día de hoy.
2. ¿Cómo te has mantenido ocupado durante la pandemia?
La pasé haciendo mucha música, seguí con mi rutina de gym, también he dado clases particulares de LOGIC X a algunos chicos y sobre todo pasando mas tiempo con mi hija.
3. ¿Cuántas personas sois en tu equipo? Manager, Agente, Publicista…
Manager/Agente y Publicista. Normalmente dos y a veces dos y medio jajajaja.
4. Volviendo un poco a los inicios, ¿como te preparas personalmente para enviar música a los sellos?
Antes lo hacia como cualquier artista que está empezando; lo redactaba con mucha ilusión y esperaba ansioso la respuesta. Hoy en día tengo relación directa con muy buenos sellos y con grandes productores por lo que que el contacto que tengo es mas directo y ellos muchas veces me piden la música directamente así que todo queda más amigable y la atención es otra. Por suerte, ya no envío mas demos como lo hacia antes, viendo lo que hacen algunos con nuestra música (yo me incluyo) y debido al circulo de favores en el que ese mueve la industria, ahora soy mucho más cuidadoso a la hora de entregar mi música a alguien, ese es también uno de los motivos de crear mi label MANITOX.
5. Los que te seguimos de cerca, conocemos tu sello discográfico, ¿puedes contarnos algo más sobre MANITOX?
El sello lo cree para darme la oportunidad a mi y a otros artistas de tener una discográfica en la que podamos expresarnos con un sonido que transmita y sea un poco mas selecto y vanguardista, las personas que trabajan conmigo también se esfuerzan mucho en darle un toque de calidad en lo referente a la parte artística y de sonido. Estoy muy contento de como va progresando la etiqueta, este 2021 tendremos algunos vinilos, y grandes artistas colaborando, cabe destacar a Henry Saiz, Yamil, Anita Sibona, Novakk etc…
6.Volvamos a hablar sobre ti, ¿qué lanzamientos nos puedes desvelar para este 2021?
Sol Selectas, Connected, Manitox (Vinyl) o Dirtybird.
7. A día de hoy ¿trabajas solo con algunos sellos exclusivamente? ¿Cual son para ti los sellos más punteros en este momento?
El único exclusivo es el mío propio MANITOX, Ahora hay muchos labels de moda pero son de otros géneros que no son de mi estilo. Siempre tuve máxima admiración por Coocon, KOMPAKT, Afterlife, Innervisions y en Downtempo: Sol Selectas.
8. Eres un artista que durante los últimos años has tenido la agenda llena de bolos, tocando por todo el mundo cada fin de semana ¿Podrías decirme tu top #5 en cuanto a actuaciones?
Tengo un montón pero este top es principalmente por la atmósfera que se vive y se crea en esos lugares:
1. Riot, Cordoba Argentina
2. Nuevo Mundo, Montevideo Uruguay
3. Island corp, Santa Fe Argentina
4. Warung festival, Sao Paulo Brasil
5. Lost Beach (Cueva), Montañita Ecuador
9. Y por último ¿Algún consejo que dar a los jóvenes que quieren adentrarse en la industria de la música?
Bueno tengo que ser lo mas sincero posible, en la época que vivimos, es triste pero para adentrarte tienes que ser un Instagramer, se valora mas el movimiento de las redes y hablar de tu vida personal que de los discos que sacas por lo que la música queda en un segundo o incluso tercer plano, esta es la cruda realidad de la industria. Por el contrario, mi camino ha sido el de editar música de calidad, así que no puedo dar otro consejo que no sea el mismo que le mío: sigan trabajando, esforzándose, no se desesperen y disfrutan de lo que hacen.

Hello Germán, first of all welcome and thank you for accepting our interview, for all those out who visit us, you will be able to know a little more about this great Spanish artist living in South of Spain: Málaga. Let’s get started:
1. Do you remember how your beginnings were?
My beginnings were very humble I was 16 years old when I started playing, I did it in places for very little money and at that time we played with vinyl so everything I earned was to buy new records, even stole coins from my mother to buy vinyls. I always had obstacles with colleagues who called me a dj too underground ‘musically’ for my city and also they closed doors to me for not looking like a dj. There were very few people who supported me, this made me leave everything aside for a long period, I returned with 30 years and with more desire than ever, my effort, perseverance and learning from the good ones took me to where I am today.
2. How have you kept busy during the pandemic?
I spent it making a lot of music, I continued my routine at the gym, also giving private lessons of LOGIC X to some guys and of course, spending more time with my daughter.
3. How many people are on your team? Manager, Agent, Publicist…
Manager/Agent and Publicist. Usually two and sometimes two and a half hahaha.
4. Going back to the beginning, how do you prepare yourself to send music to the labels?
I used to do it like any artist who is starting out; I would write it with a lot of enthusiasm and wait anxiously for the answer. Nowadays I have direct relationships with very good labels and big producers so the contact I have is more direct and they often ask me for the music so everything is more friendly and the attention is different. Luckily I don’t send out demos like I used to, seeing what some people do with our music (including myself), and because of the circle of favours in which the industry moves, I am now more careful when it comes to giving my music to someone, which is also one of the reasons of creating my MANITOX label.
5. Those of us who follow you closely know your label, can you tell us more about MANITOX?
The label was created to give me and other artists the opportunity to have a label where we can express ourselves with a different sound that transmits feelings and is a more avant-garde, the people who work with me also make a great effort to give it a touch of quality in the artistic and sound side. I am very happy with how the label is progressing. This 2021 we will have some vinyls out, and great artists collaborating, highlighting Henry Saiz, Yamil, Anita Sibona, Novakk…
6. Let’s talk about you again, what releases can you reveal for 2021?
Sol Selectas, Connected, Manitox (Vinyl) or Dirtybird.
7. Do you currently work with only a few labels exclusively? Which are the top labels for you at the moment?
The only exclusive one is my own MANITOX. Now there are many fashion labels but they are focused on other genres that are not my style. I always had the greatest admiration for Coocon, Kompakt, Afterlife, Innervisions and in Downtempo: Sol Selectas.
8. You are an artist who for the last few years has had a busy schedule, playing all over the world every weekend. Could you tell me your top #5 performance?
There are a lot but this top is because of the atmosphere created in those places:

9. And finally, any advice to give to young people who want to enter the music industry?
Well I have to be as sincere as possible, in the time we live today, it is sad but to enter you have to be an ‘Instagramer’, it is valued more the movement of the networks and talk about your personal life that the records you get so the music is in the second or even third place, this is the harsh reality of the industry. On the contrary, my path has been to release quality music, so I can’t give any other advice than my own: keep working, keep trying, don’t get desperate and enjoy what you do.
